Rodeo's are fun for most and have moved through various cultures through out the entire world. There is rodeo contestants from South America, Canada, the Caribbean, and United States. The most popular to the male crowd would probably be the bull riding, the female crowd is the barrel racing. There is nothing that i have ever done that will make your adrenaline run like being in a ring with 2500 pounds of muscle coming straight at you, sound dangerous? Well truth of the story is rodeoing is dangerous but its all for the love of the sport, just like a linebacker in football. What some people do not know are some of the different events other than the concert. Well I am here to teach a little bit of what I know about the toughest sport in the world Rodeo.

You have two different events timed events, and rough-stock events. Roughstock competitions are all gonna be some what the same just with different animals, and different styles of riding. All Roughstock competitions are judged the same way the 4 judges rate the rider on a scale of 1-25 so the better the livestock bucks and the better the rider responds to the bucking the better the score. Starting off with Bull riding this sport is the longest 8 seconds sport in the world, what I mean by that is the rider is suppose to stay on the bull for a total of 8 seconds. The rider has to hold on to a rope that is around the bull with one hand, the free hand must never touch the bull nor the rider. Next we go to Bareback riding which is also an 8 second sport, the major difference is the rider rides a horse instead of a bull, and is judged on how good the rider spurs the horse as it is bucking. The rider holds on to a long rope with one hand, just like bull riding the rider must keep free arm from touching anything. Now last of the Roughstock Saddle bronc riding which is very similar to bareback but the rider is in a saddle and the holds on to the horn of the saddle.

The next type of events is the timed events which consist of Barrel racing, team roping, steer roping, steer wrestling, and tie down roping all start off on horseback. In Barrel racing the rider has to race around three barrels in a clover like pattern, if a racer is to knock over a barrel the are penalized 5 seconds on to their time. Team roping consist of two riders header and a heeler the header ropes the head of the steer, and the heeler ropes the back legs, the time does not stop till the steer is still and the riders horses are looking at each other. Steer roping is similar to team roping but consist of just one rider, and the riders time does not stop until the steer is facing the riders horse, the rope must be over both horns if not the rider is either disqualified or penalized 5 seconds. Steer wrestling is the timed event in which everyone is like what are they thinking, the contestant tries to fall off his horse onto a steer running full speed, the time does not stop until the steer has all four feet in the air. Last is tie-down roping which is the same as steer roping but after the steer is roped the rider must jump off horse flip the steer on its back and tie its feet together, if feet do not stay tied for 5 seconds the rider is disqualified.
